As a student, I don't have much money to spend on all the craft supplies I'd like. One of those products that I'd like to have is Glimmer Mists. However, they're very expensive at $7-$8 a bottle. So I thought I'd make my own using cheap and easily available materials (more or less, anyway)! For this project, you'll need to raid your local dollar store (Dollarama in my case), your supermarket, and your kitchen.
Only the mica in this project may be little tricky to come across. I get mine (which are cosmetic grade) from Coastal Scents because their shipping to Canada is very cheap, and they have a fantastic selection. It costs $1 for 1 tsp of product. You'll only need a small portion of that for this project; you can use the rest as eyeshadow! Another option is TKB trading, though their shipping is higher to Canada.
Materials Needed:
Spray bottle
Food coloring (Gel or Liquid)
Mica (http://www.coastalscents.com)
Water
Rubbing alcohol (Optional)
Glue (craft, school, etc...)
Just mix all the ingredients into the spray bottle and SHAKE!! And there you go: your very own, customized glimmer mist!
